BALTIMORE – In its home opener, Coppin State's volleyball team took a set from Georgetown in a 3-1 (25-14, 25-15, 25-27, 25-21) loss on Wednesday night at PEC Arena. Both teams now stand at 2-5 on the season.
TaKenya Stafford put up a double-double with 15 kills and ten digs while Kayden Cupid added seven kills on .429 hitting to go with three blocks. Cherisse Atilano added eight kills, 11 digs and two blocks but the rest of the Eagles managed just ten combined kills.
Coppin co-hosts the Charm City Classic with Towson on September 12-13. On Friday, the Eagles will play Lafayette at 10 am and Penn at 6 pm before taking on Iona (11 am) and Princeton (6 pm) on Saturday.

COLLEGE PARK, MD --The Delaware State volleyball team could not overcome a dynamic Terrapins offense Wednesday on the road falling to Maryland in three sets (11-25, 14-25, 19-25).
The non-conference loss dropped Delaware State to 3-4 on the season.
Delaware State will return to action on Friday, September 12 when they face Marist University in the Red Storm Invitational. The first serve are scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
