WASHINGTON, D.C. – North Carolina Central pushed Georgetown to five sets before falling 3-2 (23-25, 25-23, 7-25, 25-19, 9-15) in a non-conference volleyball match at McDonough Arena on Friday.
Kamren Harper led NCCU with 14 kills against Georgetown and Makenzi Searcy added 11 kills. Manuela Cripa Nasser totaled 35 assists, eight digs and three blocks while Loren Johnson and Neira Joldic had 18 digs and 12 digs, respectively. Jenelle Mason collected eight kills and Tayah Little and Leanna Beaty both tallied three blocks.
Earlier in the day, the Eagles fell to George Washington (22-25, 17-25, 14-25) in three sets at the Charles E. Smith Center.

MORGANTOWN, W.V. – TaKenya Stafford led all players with 15 kills and the Eagles hit a season-high .395 as Coppin State's volleyball team swept North Dakota, 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-16) on Friday afternoon at WVU Coliseum. The Eagles improved to 2-3 on the season while the Fighting Hawks fell to 0-4.
A senior from Los Angeles, Calif., Stafford hit .481 with just two errors on 27 swings. Stafford added an ace and led the Eagles with three blocks.
Cherisse Atilano continued her strong play with nine kills on .333 swinging to go with eight digs, four aces and a pair of assists. Ahzhi Coleman, Ayanna Pharoah and Kayden Cupid had six kills apiece with the trio hitting a combined .484. Cupid hit an errorless .857 on seven swings while Coleman blocked a pair of attempts.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (September 5, 2025) – Howard University women's volleyball team got back in the win column Saturday afternoon, topping Harvard in straight sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-22) at the UNF Invitational, hosted by North Florida (UNF).
Senior Rya McKinnon (Hoover, Ala.) and redshirt sophomore Zenai Jethroe (Dallas) led the Bison attack with 10 kills apiece.

BUIES CREEK, N.C. — Norfolk State showed grit in its Campbell Invitational opener on Friday, rallying late and nearly extending the match before dropping a hard-fought 25-11, 25-11, 25-22 decision to UNC Greensboro.
The Spartans (0-5) saved their best volleyball for the third frame, going point-for-point with an unbeaten UNCG squad (4-0). Gabrielle Gilbert led the way with seven kills, while Reagan Chisholm anchored the defense with eight digs. Sydney McCree added timely points down the stretch, and Ava Berry sparked momentum with an early third-set kill.
Norfolk State traded points early, battling to a 5-5 tie before UNCG created separation with a 10-2 run. Gilbert stopped the surge with a kill, but UNCG used a second push to close out the set.
Gonzaga def. Md. Eastern Shore, 3-0 - BOX SCORE | RECAP
SPOKANE, Wa. - Maryland Eastern Shore (2-4) was defeated by Gonzaga (4-1) in straight sets at Charlotte Y. Martin Centre.
In the opening set, Gonzaga and UMES began the match with 18 and 11 kills respectively. Despite the Hawks attacking at a .229 clip, UMES was not able to slow down Gonzaga who hit .400 in the opening set. Although a kill from Anjola Omolewa got the Hawks within two, Gonzaga closed the set on a 10-5 run to take set one.
After splitting the first 10 points of set two, Gonzaga pulled away from UMES with a 13-1 scoring run. In a similar fashion, Gonzaga, leading 7-6 in the third set, utilized an 11-2 run to control the final set.
