WASHINGTON, D.C. – Howard volleyball closed the weekend with a 3-0 sweep over American on Sunday afternoon at The Burr.
Leah Reeves paced the Bison with a match-high 40 assists, while McKinnon led the offense with 16 kills. On the defensive side, Camryn Shelton tallied a team-best 15 digs.
Howard returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 18, when the Bison host High Point at 6 p.m.
George Washington def. Morgan State, 3-0 BOX SCORE | RECAP
WASHINGTON, D.C. --Morgan State concluded the three-day Battle of the Beltway tournament on Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-14) non-conference loss on the road at George Washington inside the Charles E. Smith Center.
Morgan State, in the midst of a four-match losing skid, dropped to 3-6, while George Washington improved to 5-4 and extended its winning streak to four.
Hanna Nemeth paced the Morgan State offense with nine kills, while Isabelle Brown led the Bears with 26 assists, six digs and two solo blocks. Jada Williams hit .615 with eight kills and recorded a block to give her 233 for her career and move into a seventh-place tie with Dominique Bozier (233 from 2007-10).
West Virginia def. Delaware State, 3-0 BOX SCORE | RECAP
QUEENS, N.Y. – The Delaware State volleyball team fell to West Virginia, 3-0 (14-25, 17-25, 14-25), on Sunday at Carnesecca Arena. The non-conference setback dropped the Hornets to 5-7 on the season.
Gerren Tomlin led the Hornets with 14 kills, while Emma Patmon anchored the defense with a team-high seven digs.
Delaware State returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 20, taking on William & Mary in the LB&D Insurance Invitational. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
