The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced its Bowling weekly honors for competition held November 2–9, recognizing standout performances by North Carolina A&T junior Savannah Burgin, who was named MEAC Bowler of the Week, and Delaware State freshman Ryan Starke, who earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors.
Savannah Burgin, Jr., North Carolina A&T (Grapevine, Texas)
Burgin delivered an outstanding performance to lead the Aggies during MEAC Meet #1, finishing first in average per frame (20.16) and baker fill percentage, while also leading the field in overall fill percentage (80.6%). She ranked second in overall spare percentage at 74.2%. Burgin played a key role in North Carolina A&T’s 5–2 finish at the meet, helping the Aggies secure baker match victories over University of Alabama at Birmingham, Morgan State, Norfolk State, Maryland Eastern Shore, and Howard.
Ryan Starke, Fr., Delaware State (Colorado Springs, Colo.)
Starke helped guide the Hornets to a 5–2 record at MEAC Meet #1, posting a strong average per frame and baker percentage of 18.59. She recorded a 78.3 percent overall fill percentage and a 35.0 percent striking percentage. Starke also finished with a 75.0 percent nine-count spare percentage and a 66.7 percent overall spare percentage, earning her Rookie of the Week recognition. Starke was essential in helping the Hornets with victories over Howard, Norfolk State, North Carolina A&T, Maryland Eastern Shore, and Coppin State.
