DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central sophomore guard Greg Lattimore caught fire for 38 points, leading the Eagles past Bluefield State 77-61 on Wednesday evening. 

The Eagles are now 1-3 after earning their first victory of the season. It was the home opener in McDougald-McLendon Arena for the men's squad. 

Lattimore went 12-of-17 from the field, including a 9-of-12 performance from beyond the arc. The last time an Eagle finished with nine three-point field goals was in 1995, done by head coach LeVelle Moton. He now sits second in single-game records for three-point field goals, along with Moton, behind only Reggie Groves, who went 10-of-13 in 2013. 


South Florida def. Coppin State 100-50  BOX SCORE | RECAP 

TAMPA, Fla. – Coppin State's men's basketball team could not get on the right track as it fell at South Florida, 100-50, on Wednesday night at the Yuengling Center. The Eagles dropped to 0-4 on the season, while the Bulls improved to 2-1. 
  
Coppin struggled offensively throughout the night, shooting 30.8% (16-of-52) from the field and 18.2% (2-of-11) from beyond the arc. The Eagles converted 16-of-22 free throws (72.7%) but were outscored 42-26 in the paint and 28-11 off turnovers. 
  
Tyler Koenig led Coppin State with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting and added eight rebounds in 29 minutes. DeMariontay Hall added 10 points, five rebounds and two assists, while Hussain Williams chipped in seven points.
