2025 MEAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championship Set for Nov. 1

Championship to Air live on ESPN+ from WakeMed Park

NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 29, 2025 – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will host the 2025 Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 1, at WakeMed Park (201 Soccer Park Drive) in Cary, N.C. Live coverage will air on ESPN+ beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET.

Championship action opens with the women’s 5,000m race at 11:00 a.m. ET, followed by the men’s 8,000m race at 12:00 p.m. ET. The top 15 finishers in each race will earn All-MEAC honors. The ESPN+ broadcast will feature live race coverage, interviews, and the post-race awards and trophy presentations.

Norfolk State’s men enter as the reigning five-time MEAC champions, capturing titles in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Despite a younger roster this season, the Spartans return key contributors such as Basil Koech and standout runner Ian Kimutai.

On the women’s side, Norfolk State looks to defend its 2024 championship, the program’s fourth title in the last five years. The Lady Spartans bring back a strong core, led by Abigail Chebet, Sonia Koech, and Jahmei Wyatt.
