Bethlehem, PA — November 14, 2025 — The Delaware State Men's and Women's Cross Country programs are set to compete in the NCAA Regionals against some of the fiercest and most competitive programs in the region.
The Hornets are ready to capitalize on their second-place MEAC Championship finish and top performances, collecting feedback from their coaches in preparation for this week's event. Coach Harris emphasized and commended the hard work her team displayed at the MEAC Championships, despite competing in an unfamiliar environment. "As we approach the NCAA Regional Championships, we are reminded that we started in August to prepare for our conference championships as well as the regional championships. Each and every day, we completed our mileage and did the workouts necessary to prepare us for the upcoming championships. We have worked diligently over the past few years to get to this point. We're not where we want to be as a team yet, but we are tremendously closer than we were a couple of years ago. We will have some individual successes, and that will culminate in our team understanding what needs to be done to reach the top of the mountain," said Coach Harris.
Personal-best times and top finishes over rival competitors have shortened the gap toward the Hornets' overall goal. Coach Harris stated that the expectations for Regional remain the same. "Our expectations for this elite meet are to compete with every ounce of our energy and be as successful as we can be on that day. We have put in the work and accomplished so many goals this season, and we are ready to make a difference at Delaware State University. The men's and women's cross country teams are very young, returning all of our runners next year, so this is a stepping stone to reach the top of the mountain, as I said before. This will be a challenge for both teams, as there are only three athletes in our program who have competed at this level. We definitely look forward to the challenge ahead of us."
