NORFOLK, Va. -- In collaboration with the National Football League (NFL) and Morgan State University, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) continues to build on its growing legacy of expanding opportunities in women’s sports with the return of the annual MEAC Girls on the Gridiron Flag Football Clinic for its fourth consecutive year.

On Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m., Hughes Stadium on the campus of Morgan State in Baltimore will serve as the host site for the next chapter of aspiring flag football athletes.

Led by MEAC football student-athletes and coaches, the clinic will introduce girls ages 12 and older to the fundamentals of flag football through skill stations, position-specific drills, and team-building exercises. The event also marks the official kickoff to the 2026 MEAC football season and serves as a prelude to the 2026 MEAC Football Media Day festivities.

"As we prepare to launch women's flag football as a MEAC championship sport, the continued growth of Girls on the Gridiron reflects the exciting future of the game and the opportunities it creates for young women," said MEAC Commissioner Sonja Stills. “This initiative celebrates growth, access, and inclusion, while also providing a premier stage for future stars to develop their skills, gain confidence and showcase their talent."

"Morgan State is excited to have the MEAC Girls on the Gridiron clinic for the second straight year at Hughes Stadium," said Morgan State Vice President and Director of Athletics Dena Freeman-Patton. "Last year’s turnout was great. Girls flag football is a growing sport in the DMV area, and we’re happy to be in a position to host it on our campus."

"The Girls on the Gridiron Flag Football Clinic is part of creating meaningful pathways for participation in this phenomenal growth sport of flag football while helping athletes discover their potential on and off the field,” said Troy Vincent, Sr. Executive Vice President of NFL Football Operations. “As flag football continues its historic momentum toward the Olympic and professional stage and beyond, clinics like this expand access and ensure that every young person has the opportunity to learn, compete, and lead through the game of football. It’s an honor to partner with the MEAC in investing in the next generation of student-athletes and leaders."

Participants are encouraged to wear athletic gear and sneakers (cleats if available) and bring a water bottle. All attendees will receive a complimentary camp uniform kit, including a shirt, shorts, and flags.

Check-in begins at 5:00 p.m., with the clinic running from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Pre-registration is free and can be completed HERE.
