Norfolk, Va. —The Bulldogs of South Carolina State rolled past Coppin State 8-0 in six innings to advance to the late-night matchup against No. 2 Delaware State at 8 p.m.

Dymond Round delivered a dominant performance, tossing a complete-game shutout while allowing just three hits over six innings.

Offensively, Makayla Chisolm led the way, going 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Ellanie Yarr added two hits and two RBIs, while Kylie Nelson reached base multiple times and scored twice to help spark the Bulldogs' attack from the middle of the lineup.

South Carolina State built its lead early, scoring seven runs over the first four innings while holding Coppin State to just two baserunners during that stretch. The Eagles had their best chance in the fifth inning, loading the bases, but were unable to push a run across. They added two more baserunners in the sixth but again came up empty.

For Coppin State, Kylee Sandino accounted for two of the team's three hits, with Camaren Corbett adding the other. Emily Quintero and Julianna Mejia each drew walks to contribute to the Eagles' limited offensive output. In the circle, Tatjana Harris surrendered five runs on seven hits while striking out five over 4.1 innings, and Debra Hyde allowed the game-clinching run in the sixth inning.
