MEAC Announces Weekly Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Honors

NORFOLK, Va., May. 6, 2026 — Delaware State senior Alonzo Sims Jr. was named Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, while Howard sophomore Tarike Lavine earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors.  
 
Sims Jr. (Sr., Upper Marlboro, Md) claimed gold in the 400-meter hurdles at the Princeton Larry Ellis Invitational with a MEAC-best time of 51.85. 
 
Lavine (So., Bridgetown, Barbados.) placed third in the discus at the Aggie Classic with a MEAC-leading throw of 49.67 meters while also finishing fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.90 meters. 
 
Other Top Performers 
  • Jabari Dillard (HOW) took silver in the 110-meter hurdles at the Aggie Classic, posting a 14.09 that ranks second in the MEAC. 
  • Ja’Mari Manson (DSU) finished second in the high jump at the Princeton Larry Ellis Invitational, clearing 2.06 meters. 
  • Isaac Rankin (MSU) captured first place in the high jump at the Maryland Kehoe Invitational, clearing a personal-best 2.08 meters.
