MEAC Announces Weekly Softball Honors

NORFOLK, Va., Mar. 23, 2026 – Howard senior Maryn Jordan has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Player of the Week. South Carolina State’s Lanasia Sanders earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Norfolk State’s Maddy Morris was recognized as pitcher of the Week

Jordan (Sr., OF, San Diego, Calif.) batted .750 with a 1.250 slugging percentage, collecting 12 hits, 11 RBI, a home run, a triple, and eight runs scored in a three-game sweep of Delaware State. 

Sanders (Fr., OF, Walterboro, S.C.) batted a .571 with an RBI and a run scored, helping South Carolina State to a series sweep over Coppin State. 

Morris (Jr., P, Hampton, Va.) tossed a complete-game shutout with eight strikeouts while allowing just four hits, finishing with a perfect 0.00 ERA in the win over UMES.

  • Aiko Conaway (HOW) 2-0 with a 1.70 ERA and tossing a complete-game shutout in a series sweep of Delaware State 
  • Millie Cousins (MSU) led the Bears with 14 strikeouts across 19.2 innings on the week. 
  • Kendal Daniels (NCCU) hit .375 with three RBI and two runs scored across three games for the Eagles. 
  • Ciara Farrar (SCSU) tallied a 0.78 ERA over 9.0 innings over two games. 
  • Emily Gunther (UMES) went 6-for-9 at the plate against Norfolk State, scoring three runs with one RBI and two doubles in the series. 
  • Madeline Janssen (NCCU) went 1-1 on the week, throwing 8.1 innings with a 4.20 ERA against Morgan State. 
  • Na’khia Lee (HOW) went 5-for-7 (.571) at the plate, driving in a run and scoring once during Howard’s weekend series against Delaware State. 
  • Lashea Morlu (SCSU) batted .583 with seven hits, including a home run and a triple, while driving in four RBI. 
  • Hunter Newman (MSU) batted .538 with two home runs, five RBI, and six runs scored, helping Morgan State to a 4-1 record on the week. 
  • Bristyl Riddick (NSU) posted a .545 batting average with 11 hits, six runs scored, and five RBI over the weekend.  
  • Tyler Suttles (NCCU) hit .556 with seven RBI and five runs scored across three games for the Eagles.
