NORFOLK, Va., Mar. 16, 2026 – South Carolina State sophomore Lashea Morlu has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Player of the Week. Norfolk State’s McKaley Kohn earned Rookie of the Week honors. Maryland Eastern Shore’s Dani Brown was recognized as the Pitcher of the Week.
Morlu (So., P/OF, Hendersonville, NC) helped lead South Carolina State to a 3–0 week, posting seven hits, five runs scored and a triple against Morgan State while batting .778. She also added three stolen bases and finished the series with a 1.000 on-base percentage and zero strikeouts.
Kohn (Fr., R/R, Chesapeake, Va.) hit .600 (6-for-10) with five runs scored and four RBI, posting an .800 on-base percentage while recording at least one hit in each game of the series against Delaware State. She closed the weekend with a perfect 4-for-4 performance in the series finale.
Brown (Fr., P, Medford N.J.) pitched 9.2 innings over three games, posting a 0.72 ERA while allowing just three earned runs and striking out five.

Millie Cousins (MSU) recorded six strikeouts during the week. She also contributed offensively, batting .428 (3-for-7) with a double, two runs scored, and a walk.
