MEAC MEN’S BASKETBALL WEEKLY HONORS PRESENTED BY WELLS FARGO

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced its Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors, presented by Wells Fargo. Howard University guard Cam Gillus was named Player of the Week, while Coppin State forward DeMariontay Halll earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, and S.C. State guard Noah Treadwell was named Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Gillus (G, Jr., 5-11, 180, Falls Church, VA) led the Bison to a pair of conference victories, highlighted by a historic performance against Coppin State. Gillus recorded a trip-double with 12 point, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists, while also adding four streals in 32 minutes of action to power Howard to the win. He followed that effort with an efficient performance against Norfolk State, scoring 22 points on 7-of-8 shooting, including a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range and 4-for-4 at the free throw line, while contributing four assists and two steals in 36 minutes. For the week, Gillus averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 assists, and 6.0 rebounds.

Hall (F, Sr., 6-7, 235, Atlanta, Ga.) recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while adding four blocks to protect the rim in 34 minutes of action against Morgan State. Against Howard, he contributed five rebounds, one block, and two steal while scoring 20 points and logging 29 minutes. Over the two contests, Hall totaled 16 rebounds, five blocks, and two steals.

Noah Treadwell (G, Fr., 6-5, 180, Atlanta, Ga.) opened the week with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-8 from three-point range, in 34 minutes against Delaware State. He followed with 16 points in 25 minutes versus North Carolina Central, again connecting on on four three-pointers (4-of-9) while adding two rebounds and converting 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. For the week, Treadwell totaled 34 points while knocking down eight three-pointers.

Other Top Performers:
  • Devon Ellis (Norfolk State) averaged 18.0 points and 6.5 rebounds, while adding three assists and three steals in games against Morgan State and Howard.
  • Bryce Harris (Howard) combined for 34 points with 12 rebounds, five blocks, four rebounds, and two steals in wins over Coppin State and Norfolk State.
  • Ponce James (Delaware State) totaled 21 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, and five steals across two conference games for the Hornets.
  • Gage Lattimore (N.C. Central) averaged 18.5 points and 3.5 rebounds, while contributing eight assists, two blocks, and five steals in a pair of conference games last week.
  • Anthony McComb III (Norfolk State) scored 14 points to reach the 1,000-point milestone for his career in a game against Howard.
  • Kelechi Okworogwo (N.C. Central) finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, three blocks, and three steals in games against Maryland Eastern Shore and South Carolina State.
  • Miles Webb (Delaware State) recorded 21 points and seven rebounds, highlighted by a game-winning dunk in a victory over Maryland Eastern Shore.
