(February 7, 2026) -- The Morgan State women's track & field team continued its indoor season Saturday at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge, hosted by Penn State University. Morgan posted several strong performances across both track and field events, highlighted by a few individual personal bests. "This weekend's performances were a wake-up call for our team because we didn't show up ready to meet the challenges," said Morgan State head coach Neville Hodge. "However, we will continue to strive toward our goals." Sykes & Sabock Challenge | Results On the track, sophomore Jatavia Robinson sprinted to a third-place finish in the 60m finals with a time of 7.58 seconds, and also notched fifth in the 200m at 24.92 seconds. The Bears also earned strong results in the 600m, with freshman Sydney Monroe placing eighth at a personal best 1:41.47, followed closely by junior Hemetii Apet, who finished ninth in 1:42.25. In field events, sophomore Keira Stewart recorded a 7th-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.61m. Freshman Terry-Ann Thompson threw 16.50m (personal best) to finish sixth, while senior Brylan Carter placed 11th with a toss of 14.33m. Track Events: 60m Sophomore Jatavia Robinson ran a 7.58 and finished in third place in the finals. 200m Sophomore Jatavia Robinson posted a fifth-place finish with a time of 24.92. Sophomore Janiya Glass ran a 25.60 (21st). 400m Sophomore Janiya Glass ran a 59.44 (25th). 600m Freshman Sydney Monroe placed eighth with a personal best time of 1:41.47, followed closely behind by junior Hemetii Apet , who posted a 1:42.25 (9th). Mile Junior Crystal Coke notched 13th place with a time of 5:29.87, and senior Aaliyah Headley ran a 5:39.87 (18th). 60H Anyra Knight clocked in at 8.71 and finished in seventh place. 4x400m Morgan State's quartet (Kayla Gordon, Janiya Glass, Aleisha Robinson, and Keira Stweart) raced to an eighth-place finish with a time of 3:56.40. Field Events: High Jump Sophomore Aleah Alexander cleared 1.54m (22nd) on her second attempt. Long Jump Sophomore Keira Stewart posted a leap of 5.61m to finish seventh. Shot Put Freshman Terry-Ann Thompson recorded a heave of 10.58m (20th). Weight Throw Freshman Terry-Ann Thompson registered a personal best throw of 16.50m to finish in sixth place, while senior Brylan Carter placed 11th with a toss of 14.33m.
