NORFOLK, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will have all six teams in action Saturday as nonconference play continues.
Morgan State and South Carolina State get the day started at noon, with Morgan State hosting Robert Morris and South Carolina State visiting Charleston Southern.
Three teams kick off at 1 p.m. Howard visits Penn, North Carolina Central hosts William & Mary and Delaware State takes on Franklin Pierce. Norfolk State closes out the slate at 2 p.m. against Virginia-Lynchburg.

Against Other FCS Conferences
The MEAC has posted a 13-8 record against fellow FCS conferences this season, including a 7-3 mark against the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) and a 3-1 record against the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
Getting After the Quarterback
Three MEAC programs rank among the top 12 nationally in sacks per game, led by South Carolina State at fourth (3.5). Morgan State ranks seventh (3.2), while Delaware State is 12th (2.67).
Complimentary Football
South Carolina State leads the nation in scoring offense, averaging 44.3 points per game, and ranks second nationally in total defense, allowing just 232.5 yards per game.
Opportunistic Defense
North Carolina Central ranks second nationally with 14 forced turnovers this season.
MEAC in the Rankings
South Carolina State remained among the nation’s top teams in the latest Black College Football Division I FCS poll, ranking No. 2 with 11 first-place votes and 482 total points.
Morgan State climbed to No. 3 with 404 points and two first-place votes, while Delaware State ranked No. 8 with 150 points. Norfolk State (58), Howard (46) and North Carolina Central (2) also received votes, giving all six MEAC programs representation in the latest poll.

- Morgan State Stays Hot
- Morgan State continued its strong start to the season with a thrilling 38-35 victory over Villanova on Saturday at Villanova Stadium. Cameron Edge turned in a record-book performance, completing 31-of-40 passes for 444 yards and three touchdowns, the third-most passing yards in Morgan State history, before scoring the go-ahead touchdown with 36 seconds remaining.
- The Bears improved to 4-1, marking their best start to a season since opening 5-1 in 2009.
- Howard Wins Battle of the Real HU
- Howard snapped a three-game losing streak with a 27-13 win over Hampton in the Battle of the Real HU at Audi Field. Ja’Shawn Scroggins threw for 267 yards and a touchdown while adding 64 rushing yards, and the Bison defense recorded a season-high six sacks and limited Hampton to 36 rushing yards. Billy Roberson II added a 52-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
