This Week in MEAC Volleyball: Conference Play Continues With Eight Midweek and Weekend Matchups

NORFOLK, Va. — Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) volleyball action resumes this week as all eight member institutions gear up for an eight-match slate spanning Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. 

 All matches will be live-streamed on the MEAC Network (all times Eastern).  

Coppin State leads the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference volleyball standings with a perfect 4-0 league record (13-5 overall) and a 12-match winning streak. Delaware State (12-6) and Howard (4-11) are close behind, tied for second place at 3-1, with the Bison on a three-match winning streak. North Carolina Central (4-11) and Morgan State (3-13) are tied in the middle of the group at 2-2.

MEAC VOLLEYBALL NET NOTES 

Weekly Honors: Norfolk State senior Gabrielle Gilbert, Coppin State duo Eva Rovello and Coco Figueroa, and Howard freshman Addison Buckner earned MEAC weekly honors. 

Coppin State Win Streak: Coppin State has won 12 consecutive matches, including a 4-0 mark in conference play. The run stands as the fourth-longest active winning streak in NCAA Division I behind Nebraska, Pittsburgh, and Charleston. 

Bison Momentum: Howard has strung together three consecutive victories, earning wins over Morgan State, Delaware State, and Maryland Eastern Shore. 

Stat Leaders: Norfolk State’s Gabrielle Gilbert leads the MEAC with 233 total kills (3.70 per set) across 63 sets. Delaware State’s Hannah Sanders leads all qualifiers with a .401 hitting percentage (99 kills, 24 errors, 187 attempts). Coppin State’s Kayden Cupid tops the conference with 79 total blocks (18 solo, 61 assists, 1.22 per set). Maryland Eastern Shore’s Dynasty Andrews holds the top per-set blocking mark at 1.24 blocks per set (56 blocks in 45 sets).
