MEAC Announces Weekly Football Honors

Howard running back Anthony Reagan Jr. has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced today. South Carolina State Jalen Levin was selected as Defensive Player of the Week, while S.C. State’s Roger Smith earned Offensive Lineman of the Week. Morgan State’s Raymond Moore III was named Rookie of the Week, and S.C. State punter Elliott Janish earned specialist accolades.

Anthony Reagan Jr. (RB, So., 5-9, 170, Woodbury, N.J.) delivered a standout performance in the Howard’s 44-15 win over Norfolk State. He rushed for 113 yards on 16 carries with two touchdowns. He added four receptions for 49 yards, including his third touchdown of the day in the season finale victory.

Jalen Levine (DB, Sr., 6-0, 170, Walterboro, S.C.) recorded his first career touchdown with a 33-yard interception return in the victory over Delaware State. He also posted three total tackles.

Roger Smith (OL, Sr., 6-4, 330, Maple Heights, Ohio) graded out at 91 percent on his blocking assignments and anchored an offensive line that powered the Bulldogs to 406 total yards against Delaware State. He tallied seven pancake blocks with no penalties and allowed zero sacks.

Raymond Moore III (QB, r-Fr., 6-4, 180, Baltimore, Md.) threw for 111 yards on 12-of-21 passing with one touchdown against N.C. Central. He also added 53 rushing yards on 16 carries and scored a rushing touchdown.

Elliott Janish (P, Gr., 6-4, 205, Midwest City, Okla.) registered seven punts for 323 yards, averaging 46.1 yards per punt against Delaware State. He recorded a long of 53 yards, placed two punts inside the 20-yard line, and had one touchback.

William Atkins IV (South Carolina State) passed for 249 yards on 14-of-24 attempts with two touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ 28-17 win over Delaware State.
Nasir Bashir (Norfolk State) collected two interceptions, a blocked kick, and three total tackles against Howard.
Erick Hunter (Morgan State) recorded 11 tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble against N.C. Central.
Kevon King (Norfolk State) rushed for 96 yards on 12 carries against Howard.
Ja’Quavion Smith (Howard) logged five tackles, including one for loss, a sack for a four-yard loss, and a fumble recovery against Norfolk State.
