GREENSVILLE, N.C. --- The Norfolk State women's cross-country team earned a third-place finish at the Pirate XC Invitational on Friday morning, following a month-long hiatus.
NSU scored 101 points, with finishes of 9-13-18-28-33. Davidson won the event with 28 points, followed by East Carolina (36).
Junior Sonia Koech led the Spartans with a 13th place finish (22:42.65), while Abigael Chebet followed in 17th, clocking a time of 23:09.04. Graduate Jahmei Wyatt also earned a top 25 finish, taking 24th with a time of 23:43.99.
Amira Dailey clocked a 6k time of 24:39.28 to place 35th, while Moamiky Kenneh followed in 44th with a time of 26:05.58.
Norfolk State will return to action on Oct. 17 at the Panorama Farms Invite, hosted by the University of Virginia.
