CARY, N.C., Nov. 1, 2025 – Howard University captured its second Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Cross Country Championship title since 2022, placing four runners in the top 10 to secure the 2025 crown at WakeMed Park.
FINAL RESULTS
Howard freshman Alexis Jones was named Outstanding Performer after capturing the individual gold with a time of 17:49.1, while teammate Mira Martin followed closely behind, finishing as runner-up with a time of 18:18.7.
Head coach Dameon Morgan earned Outstanding Coach honors as Howard collected 34 total team points to clinch the championship.
Norfolk State’s Sonia Koech and Abigael Chebet placed third (18:31.5) and fourth (18:45.8), respectively, while Maryland Eastern Shore’s Rebecca Jepngtich rounded out the top five with a mark of 18:51.1.
Maryland Eastern Shore’s Abigail Fisher placed sixth coming in at 18:52.0, and Norfolk State’s Jahmei Wyatt finished seventh clocking in at 18:58.7. Howard added two more top-10 finishes with Tiffany Mugubi (18:58.9) and Ester Kirk (19:00.0) placing eighth and ninth, while North Carolina Central’s Alitza Dennard completed the top 10 at 19:06.2.
Norfolk State finished second overall with 54 points, while North Carolina Central placed third with 71 points.
The top 15 finishers were named All-MEAC.
