NORFOLK, Va. - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference mourns the loss of legendary Howard University men’s basketball coach and MEAC Hall of Famer A.B. Williamson.  

Williamson became Howard’s all-time winningest coach, with a 241-182 career record and a 108-62 MEAC record in 14 years (1976-90). He led Howard to back-to-back MEAC Tournament championships in 1980 and 1981. And secured the Bison their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 1981. 

Williamson was inducted into the MEAC Hall of Fame in 2002 for his storied coaching career.
