NORFOLK, Va. -- Sonja Stills, Commissioner of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), has been named one of Coastal Virginia’s 150 Most Influential Leaders in the May edition of CoVaBIZ Magazine. The honorees, selected by the editorial staff of CoVaBIZ Magazine, represent top influential leaders across various fields.
Commissioner Stills assumed her role at the MEAC in January 2022, marking a historic milestone as the first female Commissioner in the conference’s 50-year history and the first female Commissioner of a Division I HBCU conference.
In the Athletics & Sports category, Stills is recognized alongside notable figures such as J&A Racing founders Jerry and Amy Frostick, Norfolk Tides General Manager Joe Gregory, Old Dominion University Director of Athletics Dr. Wood Selig, and Virginia Beach Director of Sports Tourism Dani Timm.
