North Carolina A&T State Draws Medaille in NCAA Bowling Championship

North Carolina A&T State, fresh off its third consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) bowling championship, will compete in the Rochester Regional of the 2023 NCAA Women's Bowling National Collegiate Championship, as the 17-team bracket was unveiled Wednesday afternoon.

The Aggies (90-31), ranked No. 7 in the March 2023 National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Top 25 Coaches Poll, defeated Monmouth 4-3 in the MEAC Bowling Championship final this past Sunday to once again clinch the league's automatic bid. They boast the two-time MEAC Bowler of the Year in Melanie Katen, the two-time MEAC Bowling Championship Outstanding Performer in Lauren Tomaszewski and the MEAC Coach of the Year in Kim Terrell-Kearney.

NCAT will face off against Medaille University (88-30, champion out of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. The Mavs boast the three-time AMCC Bowler of the Year in Sarah Radt, and they are ranked No. 18 in the March 2023 NTCA Coaches Poll.

The match will take place on Friday, April 7 at 3 p.m. in Rochester, N.Y.

Defending champion McKendree is the No. 1 overall seed, with Vanderbilt the No. 2, Arkansas State (top of the Rochester Regional) the No. 3 and No. 4 Nebraska the No. 4

Regional action will take place from April 6-8 in double-elimination Mega Match format, and the winner of each regional will advance to the National Championship in Las Vegas, Nev. on April 14-15.
