North Carolina A&T State Finishes Fifth in Music City

SMYRNA, Tenn. -- 
The seventh-ranked team in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll, the North Carolina A&T bowling team completed the 19th annual Music City Classic hosted by Vanderbilt University in fifth place. The Aggies went 2-1 in best-of-seven bracket play in Baker format to finish 8-4 at the tournament.

Senior Lauren Tomaszewski earned all-tournament honors. She had the highest total pinfall in traditional team play, knocking down 1,192 pins for a five-game average of 238.40.

Maryland Eastern Shore Comes in 10th at Music City Classic

SMYRNA, Tenn. -- 
Maryland Eastern Shore was close to a very different day on the lanes on Sunday, the final day of the Music City Classic. Opening with a bracket play showdown against National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) No. 8 Maryville University, the Hawks quickly found themselves knotted at 3.5-3.5 having split Game 5 in the best-of-seven series.

The Roll Off came out in favor of the Saints 97-71 and started the day off on the wrong foot.

UMES (74-42, 10-6 MEAC) stopped No. 19 Lincoln Memorial 4-1 in the second match and then in a rematch with Maryville came out on the wrong side of a 4-2 loss, but sometime in the middle of the second match the Hawks found their game.

Monmouth Finishes 18th in Music City Classic

SMYRNA, Tenn. -- 
The Monmouth University team placed 18th out of 30 teams and posted a 6-7 overall record at the Music City Classic this past weekend, hosted by Vanderbilt University.

Siyah Sweeny led MU with a 199.8 average and a pair of 200+ games, while Jamie Phelan added two 200+ games of her own, including a high game of 230. Sierra Poole also record a high game of 230, and freshman Brillian Soedarmasto impressed with an even 200-pin game against the Penguins.
 
As a team, Monmouth knocked down an average of 181 pins over 65 total games. The Hawks outbowled their opponents 11,737-11,693 on the weekend.
