Coppin's Hamberg Named Collegiate Baseball Newspaper National Player of the Week

TUCSON, Ariz. – For the second time this season, Coppin State's Jordan Hamberg has been named a Collegiate Baseball Newspaper National Player of the Week, it was announced by the organization on Monday afternoon. 

Hamberg is one of 13 players nationwide to earn Collegiate Baseball honors this week.

A sophomore from South Plainfield, N.J., Hamberg did it all for Coppin State last week against Mount St. Mary's and Maryland Eastern Shore. Hamberg belted two homers, two doubles, scored three runs and had five RBIs with seven walks and a pair of stolen bases.

On the mound, he struck out 12 batters in 6.0 innings of work during a 4-2 win over Maryland Eastern Shore.
 
Hamberg also received the award on April 11, 2022.
 
Winners of eight of its last 10 conference games, Coppin State (21-25, 17-11 MEAC) leads the league by three games and returns to action on Wednesday at Towson for a 3 p.m. first pitch.
