Delaware State 13, Norfolk State 6
DOVER, Del. -- The Delaware State baseball team opened a four-game series in MEAC competition against Norfolk State with a 13-6 win on Thursday.
The Hornets strung three three-run frames together, including going back-to-back in the fourth and the fifth innings to power the home win. Delaware State scored a run in six of its eight offensive outings.
Norfolk State tallied six runs across the second, third and fourth innings of the afternoon but were held scoreless from the fifth inning through the remainder of the game.
Delaware State's outburst was highlighted by home runs from Jordan King and Trey Paige.

Maryland Eastern Shore 7, Coppin State 6 / 10 innings
SALISBURY, Md. -- For the second time this season, the Maryland Eastern Shore baseball team went to extra innings against Coppin State and once again the Hawks (10-23, 9-8 MEAC) prevailed over their conerence rivals at Perdue Stadium on Thursday.
After looking to have the game out of hand after five Eagles (13-21, 9-8 MEAC) runs to come back and take the lead in the eighth and ninth innings, the Shore grinded out in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game then used a walk-off single by Derrick Mayes II in the tenth to start Easter weekend with a 7-6 win.
