NORFOLK, Va., March 7, 2022—Norfolk State graduate outfielder Tanner Brandon selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Coppin State’s Josh Hankins was named Rookie of the Week, while Delaware State sophomore Evan Harris earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
Brandon (6-4, Gr., OF, Huntington, W.Va.) hit .545 (6-for-11) over the weekend in a three-game set against NJIT, driving in a pair of runs and scoring twice. He had three extra-base hits over the weekend: two doubles and a home run. He went 2-for-3 with a home run on Friday, before turning in a 3-for-4 effort with two doubles on Saturday.
Hankins (6-0, Fr., INF, Boothwyn, Pa.) was 7-for-12 (.583) at the plate in three games against Cornell, including a 4-for-5 effort on Sunday – a game in which he scored four times and drove in a run. He was also 2-for-3 on Friday with a pair of RBIs, giving him four runs and four RBIs for the weekend.
Harris (6-1, So., P/OF, Dover, Del.) tossed six no-hit innings against Lehigh on Friday en route to leading the Hornets to a 1-0 victory. He struck out six batters and retired the last 11 Lehigh batters he faced.

Marcos Castillo (Coppin State) was 3-for-4 on Sunday against Cornell with four RBIs and three runs scored, reaching base a program-record all seven times he was at the plate.
Jordan Hamberg (Coppin State) struck out 10 against Lehigh in 5.2 innings, scattering three hits and giving up just two runs.
Trey Paige (Delaware State) drove in two runs and hit .500 (6-for-12) in a three-game series against Lehigh.
Noah Covington (Maryland Eastern Shore) threw a complete game against Radford in helping the Hawks pick up their first win in two years, scattering five hits and three runs.
Dillon Oxyer (Maryland Eastern Shore) was 3-for-5 against Radford on Saturday with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored.
Caden Parker (Maryland Eastern Shore) struck out eight in his first career start against Georgetown, giving up just two runs in five innings.
Nolan Manzer (Norfolk State) tossed six shutout innings against NJIT, striking out eight and scattering three hits.
