NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 28, 2022—Coppin State sophomore outfielder/pitcher Jordan Hamberg and Delaware State sophomore infielder Trey Paige were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Co-Players of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Coppin State’s Landen Argabright was named Rookie of the Week, while Norfolk State redshirt junior James Deloatch earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
Hamberg (6-0, So., OF/P, South Plainfield, N.J.) batted .429 (6-for-14) in five games for the Eagles this past weekend, totaling six RBIs and seven runs scored, while hitting two doubles and a home run. In a midweek win over Navy, Hamberg went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, a grand slam, five RBIs and three runs scored. In addition to his prowess at the plate, Hamberg tossed four innings in Sunday’s game against Saint Peter’s, striking out eight.
Paige (6-0, So., IF, Reading, Pa.) batted .429 (6-for-14) at the plate in a four-game set against Charleston Southern, including four extra-base hits – three doubles and a home run. He drove in five runs and scored three in the series, and Paige also hit safely in all four games. He hit a three-run homer in Friday’s opener and was 2-for-4 in Sunday’s finale with a double and two RBIs.
Argabright (5-10, Fr., C, Cave Creek, Ariz.) hit .400 in three games this past week, going a combined 2-for-5 at the plate while racking up four RBIs and scoring a pair of runs. His best game of the week came in a midweek win over Navy, in which Argabright was 2-for-4 at the plate with a grand slam, a double, four RBIs and two runs scored.
Deloatch (6-0, r-Jr., P, Norfolk, Va.) tossed 5.1 scoreless innings of one-hit ball against Georgetown on Friday, striking out seven. The Spartans went on to win that game 2-1, even though Deloatch didn’t factor into the decision.

Tyler Nichol (Coppin State) struck out eight in 4.2 innings of work against Saint Peter’s, scattering three hits.
Kyle Cincinnati (Maryland Eastern Shore) made his first two collegiate starts behind the plate against Albany, recording a hit in each game.
Dionte Brown (Norfolk State) hit a combined .308 (4-for-13) in a three-game set against Georgetown, driving in a pair of runs.
