BALTIMORE, Md. — Morgan State Athletics has publicly launched the Morgan Made Campaign, a comprehensive fundraising campaign focused exclusively on maintaining the resources and excellence that has made Morgan State one of the nation's premier HBCU athletic departments.

The largest undertaking and fundraising initiative in Morgan Athletics' history, the $1 Million campaign represents a bold step for Morgan Athletics and a commitment to future academic and athletic excellence.  The Campaign will consist of philanthropic dollars and financial support from alumni, supporters and corporate sponsorships of Morgan Athletics and Morgan State University.

Campaign Priorities
  • Student-Athlete Wellness and Development
  • Facility Enhancements
  • Academic and Competitive Excellence
"With the help of our outstanding Morgan community, alumni, fans and supporters, the Morgan Made Campaign and Morgan Athletics Facility Master Plan will reaffirm our commitment to a first-class student-athlete experience as we continue to grow the future and lead the world," Morgan State Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Edward Scott said.

Along with the campaign, Morgan Athletics also revealed new Athletics Facility Master Plan. The Facility Master Plan is a 10-year facility road map that responds to the current needs of today's student-athletes and focuses on creating conditions for success for all of Morgan's 14 Varsity sports.  Addressing over 10 venues, the plan will improve the function and sustainability of existing facilities, with additions in critical areas for student-athlete health and performance.

The Morgan Made Campaign includes four critical facility projects in the Facility Master Plan:
  • Weight Room Renovation
  • Practice Field Upgrade
  • Athletics Hall of Fame Upgrade
  • Sports Medicine and Sports Performance Support Center

"The Morgan Athletics Facility Master Plan and Morgan Made Campaign will provide Morgan Athletics a guide for capital investment and facility infrastructure that will ensure Morgan's academic and athletic excellence for years to come," Lydell Sargeant, Senior Associate AD for External Relations and Development, said.

Naming right opportunities are available for each facility project in the Athletics Facilities Master Plan and philanthropy designated for specific facilities could provide an opportunity for additional projects. Timeframe for the projects are to be determined and construction will begin as soon as funding goals are met.
