Norfolk State Athletics Graduates 30 in Spring Semester

NORFOLK, Va. – A total of 30 Spartan student-athletes earned their bachelor's degrees at Norfolk State University's spring commencement, which was held in-person at William "Dick" Price Stadium on Saturday.
 
Of the 30, a total of 21 student-athletes also graduated with honors. And one student-athlete who graduated with honors, volleyball's Symone Thomas, was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Softball's Shelby DesChamps and basketball's Kashaun Hicks received their Master's degrees this spring.
 
The Spartan baseball team led the way with 10 graduates this spring. Football finished with five, and both men's basketball and volleyball each had four. Softball had three players receive their diplomas, men's tennis finished with two, and both men's track and field and women's track and field each had one student-athlete walk across the stage this spring.
