DOVER, Del. -- 
Coppin State swept a pair of high-scoring games at Delaware State, defeating the Hornets 13-12 in game one and 13-11 in the nightcap on Saturday afternoon at Soldier Field.

The victories keep the Eagles' MEAC Baseball Championship hopes alive, as they stand at 6-16 in league play, while the Hornets now stand at 11-11 with nine games to play.
 
Darren Hagan and Toran Smith both had three hits and scored twice in game one, while Mike Dorcean and Grant Williams each had two base knocks, with Dorcean driving in a team-high three runs and drawing a pair of walks.

Williams and Eddie Javier, Jr., also had a pair of RBIs.

NORFOLK, Va. --
Florida A&M bounced back from Friday's setback in Marty L. Miller Field on Saturday by taking both games of a doubleheader over Norfolk State. The Rattlers opened with a 12-4 win in the first game before taking the nightcap 5-4.

Four Rattlers had two hits in the first game, as FAMU knocked out 13 base knocks, and Tucker Rayburn drove in a team-high four runs.

FAMU broke the game open with a seven-run fifth.

In game two, the Rattlers scored in the top of the sixth to break a 4-4 tie and Jeremiah McCollum went two innings to pick up his first save of the season.

GREENSBORO, N.C. --
North Carolina Central swept both games of a Saturday doubleheader against rival North Carolina A&T State at War Memorial Stadium, taking the first game 5-2, despite only having one hit, before busting out the bats for an 11-2 win in the nightcap.

A four-run second inning keyed the Eagles in the first game, a frame in which NCAT walked in three runs, while Ryan Miller went six innings and striking out eight to pick up his eighth win of 2021.

Kokko Figueiredo had NCCU's lone hit in the first game.

The hits came in the second game -- 14 of them for the Eagles -- and six Eagles had two hits. Five different NCCU players drove in a pair of runs in the nightcap, and five NCCU pitchers combined for nine strikeouts.
