NORFOLK, Va., March 8, 2021North Carolina A&T State sophomore Cameran Brantley was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Coppin State’s Sebastien Sarabia was named Rookie of the Week, while North Carolina Central redshirt sophomore Ryan Miller was named Pitcher of the Week.
 
Brantley (5-10, So., OF, Charlotte, N.C.) went 7-for-16 (.438) in all four games for the Aggies this past week, scoring five runs and driving in five more while drawing six walks, hitting a double and a home run. His best game came on Friday against The Citadel, where he went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and the eventual game-winning hit in the 11th inning.
 
Sarabia (5-11, Fr., C, Simi Valley, Calif.) hit .500 (5-for-10) in three games for the Eagles, including a pair of two-hit games, scoring four times, racking up four RBIs and drawing three walks. In the first game against Mount St. Mary’s on Friday, he had a double and his first career home run, driving in three runs. He was also 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.
 
Miller (6-3, r-So., RHP, Blandon, Pa.) tossed his second straight seven-inning complete game, going the distance against Norfolk State in a 10-0 victory. He scattered four hits and didn’t allow a walk against the Spartans, striking out nine.
 
Other Top Performers
Aaron Rea (Coppin State) tossed six scoreless innings against Mount St. Mary’s with just two hits and six strikeouts.
 
Conner Walker (Coppin State) drove in seven runs in the series against Mount St. Mary’s, hitting two doubles and a home run.
 
Korey Singh (Norfolk State) hit two home runs against North Carolina Central, a three-run shot on Saturday and a grand slam on Sunday.
 
Conner Knapp (North Carolina A&T State) had five RBIs and a home run as the Aggies took their series against The Citadel.
 
Cole Parks (North Carolina A&T State) gave up just one run in eight innings against The Citadel, striking out seven and scattering seven hits.
 
Patrick Doran (North Carolina Central) had a pair of two-hit games against Norfolk State, driving in a combined four runs in those contests – including a home run on Sunday.
 
Chet Sikes (North Carolina Central) was a combined 3-for-7 at the plate in two games against Norfolk State, including 2-for-3 with an RBI on Saturday.
