EMMITSBURG, Md. -- Everything clicked for the Coppin State baseball team as the Eagles scored 22 runs, made no errors and got great starting pitching in a doubleheader sweep over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon at Straw Family Stadium.
Coppin hammered the Mountaineers 15-5 in game one before taking the nightcap 7-3.
Aaron Rea got the win in the opener, allowing only two hits without a walk while striking out six in 6.0 innings. A redshirt senior from Altamonte Springs, Fla., Rea recorded his 16
th career victory, which ranks second in school history, and he now has 221 strikeouts, just shy of Brian Pisani's school record of 229.

NORFOLK, Va. -- The North Carolina Central baseball program used a handful of big innings to pick up a doubleheader sweep at Norfolk State, 10-8 and 10-0, on Saturday at Marty Miller Field.
NCCU (6-3) scored a total of 20 runs with 24 hits in the two wins over the Spartans (2-7), and the pitching staff worked together to compile 25 strikeouts.
