NORFOLK, Va., March 15, 2021—
Delaware State freshman Trey Paige was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today.
Coppin State’s Darren Hagan was named Rookie of the Week, while
Norfolk State senior Danny Hosley was named Pitcher of the Week.
Paige (6-0, Fr., INF, Reading, Pa.) was 7-for-15 (.467) at the plate this past weekend in a series win over Mount St. Mary’s, hitting three home runs and a double while driving in six runs. He went yard twice in Friday’s game before going 4-for-7 in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader – a game the Hornets won 32-11 – with a home run, a double and three RBIs.
Hagan (5-11, Fr., OF, Chichester, Pa.) was 3-for-6 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and four RBIs in Sunday’s contest against La Salle. He also had a double and drew a walk in a midweek contest against George Washington.
Hosley (6-1, Sr., RHP, Vienna, Va.) tossed his first career complete game and got his first career win on Sunday against Longwood, allowing just three hits and striking out five while allowing just one run and one walk.

Matt Day (Coppin State) was 3-for-4 against La Salle with three runs scored.
William Jackson (Coppin State) struck out eight in 4.1 innings of relief against La Salle.
Josh Hancock (Florida A&M) tossed 5.1 innings of scoreless ball against Grambling State, striking out three.
Joseph Pierini (Florida A&M) had three RBIs in a series sweep of Grambling State.
Jared Weber (Florida A&M) hit two home runs in a three-game sweep of Grambling State, scoring seven times and driving in two.
Dionte Brown (Norfolk State) was 3-for-5 with two runs scored in game one of the Longwood doubleheader and stole three bases for the week.
Cameran Brantley (North Carolina A&T State) had three doubles and a home run in a three-game set against Elon including a 5-for-5 game on Saturday.
Evan Gates (North Carolina A&T State) struck out two in a scoreless inning of work against Elon for his second win of the season.
Ryan Miller (North Carolina Central) struck out nine in 6.1 innings of work against East Tennessee State.
Tristan Shea (North Carolina Central) was 3-for-3 with two RBIs in a win over East Tennessee State.
Chet Sikes (North Carolina Central) was 3-for-4 with a run scored and a double on Saturday against East Tennessee State.
