NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 3, 2021 – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has reached an agreement with Cricket Wireless to, in part, become the official wireless sponsor of the MEAC for the next three years.
“The sponsorship with Cricket Wireless is a fantastic opportunity for both entities,” MEAC Commissioner Dennis Thomas said. “During these difficult times in our country, it is important for companies like Cricket Wireless to invest in the MEAC, our institutions and communities. We look forward to a long and significant relationship with Cricket Wireless.”
In addition, Cricket Wireless will be the official wireless sponsor of replays during MEAC football broadcasts and have a presence at conference championship events and at each of the MEAC’s 11 institutions.

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) celebrates its 50th year of intercollegiate competition with the 2020-21 academic school year. Located in Norfolk, Va., the MEAC is made up of 11 outstanding historically black institutions across the Atlantic coastline: Bethune-Cookman University, Coppin State University, Delaware State University, Florida A&M University, Howard University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University and South Carolina State University.
