NORFOLK, Va. -- Right hander Justin Walton struck out a career-high nine batters over six strong innings, and Norfolk State won its first weekend series of the season with a 10-5 victory over North Carolina Central on Sunday at Marty L. Miller Field.
Danny Hosley went 3-for-3, and Dionte Brown, Cody Donnell and Phillip Boykin had two hits each for the Spartans (2-5), who split Saturday's doubleheader in Durham against the Eagles (4-3).

North Carolina A&T State 11, Appalachian State 3
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- North Carolina A&T State put together an offensive explosion, besting the Appalachian State Mountaineers 11-3 inside War Memorial Stadium on Sunday afternoon in non-conference baseball.
The Aggies (2-5) returned to the nearly 100-year old park with some offensive might. They got off to a red-hot start in the bottom of the first inning, plating six runs.
A&T put together six hits in the frame, highlighted by a two-run RBI single from freshman Connor Knapp and another two-run single from sophomore Tony Mack. Knapp paced the Aggies with his 2-for-4 performance that included two stolen bases and two runs scored.
