NORFOLK, Va. -- The Hampton Roads Sports Commission (HRSC), an affiliate of the Hampton Roads Chamber, announces the upcoming launch of their new web series, SportsTalk 757. This program will bring together the 757’s coaches, athletic professionals, athletes, and the community to discuss topics pertaining to the future of sports in the region twice a month.

“We are excited about the inception of SportsTalk 757 and feel that it will be an effective way to promote the storied sports culture in the region,” Claudell Clark, Executive Director of the Hampton Roads Sports Commission and former head baseball coach at Norfolk State, said.

This web series will kick off on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 12 p.m. with a live stream on YouTube and SoundCloud, as well as on the Hampton Roads Sports Commission website, with former NFL defensive back for the Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars and current City of Chesapeake Councilman, Don Juan Carey III.

Carey, a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and Norfolk State University, will join Clark to discuss topics such as his transition from athlete to philanthropist and politician, opportunities for sports in the region, the upcoming football season and COVID-19, and insight on ongoing racial tensions and the effect on sports.

“Due to widespread competition and practice restrictions on all levels of athletics, virtual forums will prove to be even more important to highlight the sports related stories in the region,” Clark said.
