GREENSBORO, N.C. – Due to the uncertainty of fan attendance at North Carolina A&T State football games this season because of COVID-19, the N.C. A&T Sports Hall of Fame board voted unanimously to postpone the 2020 Hall of Fame Weekend Induction until 2021.
Ten Aggies are scheduled to be inducted into the latest class including two posthumously. Among the former football players to be inducted will be defensive backs Al Barnett, Jr., Curtis Burgins and Tim Williams and offensive lineman Qasim Mitchell.
Inductees associated with the men's basketball program include the program's all-time leading scorer and rebounder Joe Binion, Eric Boyd, the late Don Corbett, Sr., who served as the Aggies head coach from 1979-93, Bruce Jenkins III and the late Warren Reynolds who served as the Aggies head coach from 1970-77.
The lone men's track and field inductee will be Odell Benders, Jr.
The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to honor those former athletes and persons by the excellence of their performance in or connected with sports have brought esteem, recognition and fame to themselves and to their alma mater.
