UPDATE: HBCU World Series Between NCAT, Southern Canceled

UPDATE, May 22: Friday's HBCU World Series between North Carolina A&T State and Southern has been canceled, as announced on Wednesday by Southern University.

From BCSG 360:

"The HBCU World Series and all events have been canceled for May 24, 2019. Due to the threat of weather, it was mutually agreed by BCSG 360 and both Southern University and North Carolina A&T State University not to move forward with the event. BCSG 360 is working with stakeholders to reschedule this event for a date in 2019.

"We would like to thank Southern University, North Carolina A&T University, White Sox/Illinois Sports Facility Authority, Chicago Public Schools, City Colleges of Chicago, Illinois Department of Employment Security, Chicago Sky, One Stop Food and so many other sponsors/strategic partners for their hard work and effort to make this event so appealing to HBCU baseball fans across the country.

"The overwhelming interest for the HBCU World Series from places like Moss Point, Miss., Atlanta, Ga., and Detroit, Mich., is confirmation that the HBCU World Series must happen. Rest assured that BCSG 360 is working tirelessly to make the HBCU World Series a reality in 2019."
