AUSTIN, Texas —  For the second straight season, Maryland Eastern Shore senior second baseman Mike Escanilla (Waldorf, Maryland) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for District Two.

All student-athletes selected are now eligible for Academic All-American contention, which will be announced later this month.

He also leads the Hawks in on-base percentage at .402 and in slugging with a .422 average. Mike is currently 10 hits away from the all-time record set by Tre-Von Johnson in 2013.

In the classroom, the senior from Charles County is set to graduate in May with a degree in biology and possesses a GPA of 3.53.

Mike Garzillo of Lehigh, Joe Ogren of Bucknell, and Nick Solak of Lousville join Escanilla as members of the infield. District Two is comprised of schools from the District of Columbia, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
