NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State’s Angel Rosario was selected the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday. Teammates Matt Outman earned the Pitcher of the Week, while Alex Mauricio was selected Rookie of the Week.
Rosario (OF, 5-9, Jr., Bridgeport, Conn.) batted .400 (6-for-15), with one home run, one double and five RBI against VCU and Jackson State. He went 1-for-2, with one home run and one stolen base, in a 6-3 victory over VCU.
Outman (LHP, 6-3, r-Jr., Chesapeake, Va.) tossed 7.0 scoreless innings, while scattering seven hits and striking out three, in an 8-0 victory over Jackson State.
Mauricio (SS, 6-0, Fr., Midlothian, Va.) totaled five hits, four runs and one RBI against VCU and Jackson State. He went 3-for-4, with three hits and one RBI, in a 6-3 win against VCU.
