NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State’s Denathan Dukes earned Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday. Teammates Stephen Butt was selected the Pitcher of the Week, while Roger Hall earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Dukes (OF, 6-2, So., Woodbridge, Va.) batted .545, with an on-base percentage of .615, in a three-game sweep of Maryland Eastern Shore. He went 3-for-4 in the series opener and scored the lone run in the victory.
Butt (P, 6-0, Sr., Portsmouth, Va.) struck out a career-high 13 batters in eight-plus innings pitched and held Maryland Eastern Shore to only three hits in a 5-3 victory.
Hall (IF, 6-0, r-So., Chesapeake, Va.) drove in the only run in a win against Maryland Eastern Shore. He drove in four runs, with three hits, and scored once in the three-game series against the Hawks.

Charles Dailey (DSU) recorded a season-high four RBI to complete a three-game sweep of Coppin State.
Blake Morgan (NCCU) struck out six and didn’t allow a run in 4.1 innings against Bethune-Cookman.
Carlos Ortiz (NCCU) batted .476 (8-for-19), with one home run, in games against UNC Wilmington, Campbell and Bethune-Cookman.
Gabe Rivera (DSU) earned his first save, with two strikeouts, in a 6-3 win over Coppin State.
Jesse Stinnett (UMES) fanned five batters in eight innings pitched in a 1-0 loss to Norfolk State.
Devin Sweet (NCCU) earned an 8-3 victory after working seven innings and fanning four against Bethune-Cookman.
