Hornets Fall in Midweek Contest at Navy
Annapolis, Md. --- Navy scored seven unanswered runs after Delaware State tied the game in the fifth inning en route to a 10-3 win over the Hornets at Max Bishop Stadium this afternoon.
The Midshipmen won for the second time in three games to improve to 7-4 this season. The Hornets, playing their first game since Feb. 22, fell to 0-8.
Delaware State had 10 hits, with Charles Dailey, David Kimbrough and Jaylen Zielecki collecting two each. Zielecki drove in two runs and Kimbrough the other for the Hornets.
Bobby Brown struck out two in a scoreless inning of relief for the Hornets.
The Hornets are scheduled to play their 2015 home opener this Saturday (Mar. 7) with a doubleheader against NJIT. Game one begins at 12 p.m. The teams are also scheduled for a twin-bill on Sunday at Soldier Field.

B-CU Diamond Cats Tripped Up by Maine, 11-8
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Maine scored six runs over the last two innings to escape with an 11-8 victory over Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday night in non-conference baseball action at Radiology Associates Field at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
B-CU starter Ivan Coutinho was pulled early, throwing 18 pitches in 0.1 inning, tagged for three earned runs on four hits. He was relieved by Donte Lindsay, who worked four complete frames, scattering three hits and allowing two runs with three strikeouts.
Nathan Bond finished the game 3-for-4 with a run and a RBI. Brandon Amendolare was 3-for-5 with a run scored and driving in another, while MEAC Rookie of the Week Mijon Cummings was 3-for-6 at the plate with two RBI and a run scored. It was Garcia rounding out the triple-hit players with a 3-for-5 showing with a run and a RBI himself.
Bethune-Cookman will look to return to winning ways this weekend when the Wildcats welcome the North Carolina Central Eagles to Jackie Robinson Ballpark for a three-game set, beginning with a twin bill Saturday, March 7, at 1 p.m.

UNCW Seahawks Take Advantage of Errors, Down Eagles 9-3
WILMINGTON, N.C. – North Carolina Central University committed four errors in their game against UNC Wilmington, and those errors proved costly as the Eagles fell 9-3 on the road Wednesday afternoon.
Despite committing two errors, Marrow led the Eagles offensively going 4-for-5 with three singles and a double, along with an RBI and a run scored.
Eric Kimber picked up his second loss in as many starts (0-2), lasting two innings and giving up five runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out three batters and walking two.
The Eagles next travel south to Bethune-Cookman for a three-game set this weekend at Jackie Robinson Park.
