NORFOLK, Va. – Bethune-Cookman’s Clay Middleton earned the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Player of the Week honors for games played March 2-8, the conference announced on Monday. North Carolina Central’s Jordan Quinn was selected Pitcher of the Week, while Bethune-Cookman’s Tyler Norris earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Middleton (C, 6-0, R-So., Oviedo, Fla.) registered a .556 batting average (5-for-9), including three doubles, three runs scored and three RBIs, against North Carolina Central. Defensively, he recorded 14 putouts and five assists, without an error.
Quinn (P, 6-1, R-Sr., Goldsboro, N.C.) recorded seven strikeouts in 7.2 innings pitched and scattered seven hits in a 2-1 victory over North Carolina A&T State.
Norris (P, 6-1, Fr., Coral Springs, Fla.) registered a career-high eight strikeouts in 6.2 innings pitched, while allowing two runs, on two hits, in an 11-7 win against North Carolina Central.

Mike Escanilla (UMES) went 2-for-3, with a double and two stolen bases, against Winthrop.
Dillon O’Brien (CSU) recorded a no-decision in a 4-3 win over Army, with four hits, two unearned runs allowed, and struck out two in five innings.
Alex Seibold (B-CU) fanned five batters in eight innings pitched, in a 6-1 victory over North Carolina Central.
Chipper Smith (UMES) allowed one run and five hits over six shutout innings pitched in a 1-0 victory over Winthrop.
Ronald Thompson (NCCU) drove in three runs and scored twice, while batting .750 (3-for-4), including a home run, against Bethune-Cookman.
