NORFOLK, Va. – Bethune-Cookman’s Nathan Bond earned the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday. Maryland Eastern Shore’s Jesse Stinnett was selected Pitcher of the Week, while Brandon Wilkes of Bethune-Cookman earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Bond (OF/1B, 6-2, Jr., Orlando, Fla.) went 6-for-15 (.400), with two runs scored, two RBIs and one double, against Central Florida and Mercer. He finished 4-for-4, including one double, driving in one in an 8-3 loss to Mercer.
Stinnett (P, 6-3, Jr., Madison Heights, Va.) worked 7.0 innings and scattered 10 hits, with four strikeouts, in a 3-0 victory over Navy.
Wilkes (2B, 5-11, Fr., Holly Hill, Fla.) batted .214, with three hits and three runs scored, against Central Florida and Mercer. He recorded two runs in a loss to Mercer.
Other Top Performances
Randal Mendez (CSU) finished with five hits, including one double and four stolen bases in a three-game series against Jacksonville.
Keith Zuniga (B-CU) recorded six strikeouts in 6.0 innings pitched against Mercer.
