NORFOLK, Va. – Delaware State junior David Kimbrough earned the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week honors for games played Feb. 24-March 2, the conference announced on Wednesday. Bethune-Cookman’s Montana Durapau was selected Pitcher of the Week, while teammate Austin Garcia earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
Kimbrough (3B, 6-0, Jr., Atlanta, Ga.) was a big part of Delaware State’s 3-1 week. Kimbrough led the team with a .769 batting average, putting up 10 hits in 13 at-bats, including a double. Kimbrough scored five runs, while batting in another. Against Akron, Kimbrough went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, while scoring a run and driving in a pair of runs.
Durapau (RHP, 5-10, Sr., Deltona, Fla.) pitched a complete-game two-hitter against rival Stetson. Durapau allowed one run and retired 28 of the 29 batters he faced, striking out six. As a closer, Durapau entered the game late against Florida A&M to pick up the save in a 4-2 victory.
Garcia (DH, 6-0, Fr., LaBelle, Fla.) batted a .444 (4-for-9) in a pair of games against Florida A&M. Garcia drove in four, including three against a 10-5 15-inning win against the Rattlers.

Byron Campbell (UMES) collected four hits, including a pair of stolen bases, and scored two runs in games against Buffalo.
Charles Cantrell (NCAT) pitched seven innings, scattering four hits and striking out 12 in a 5-1 win against North Carolina Central.
Ross Cardwell (NSU) Went 3-for-5, with a double and a pair of RBIs in a 14-4 victory over Savannah State.
Devin Hemmerich (NSU) combined to pitch 8.1 innings against Duke and Savannah State, earning a save.
Matt McClain (DSU) pitched a complete-game, earning his seventh career shutout and 17th complete game, against Akron.
Matt Outman (NSU) allowed just one hit, no runs and struck out five in a 2-0 victory against Savannah State.
Bernard Parker (UMES) pitched seven innings and struck out two in a pair of contests against Buffalo.
Bennie Robinson (FAMU) went 7-for-17, and collected four RBIs in games against Troy and Bethune-Cookman.
Eric Sams (BCU) went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, two doubles and an RBI in an 11-6 win against Florida A&M.
Luke Tendler (NCAT) went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in and belted a home run in a 5-1 victory against North Carolina Central.
Carter Williamson (NCCU) went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs in a 9-3 win over North Carolina A&T.
