NORFOLK, Va. – North Carolina A&T senior Luke Tendler earned the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Wednesday. Delaware State’s George Michael was selected Pitcher of the Week, while Carlos Ortiz of North Carolina Central earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
Tendler (RF, 6-0, Sr., Wilmington, N.C.) batted a .333 (5-of-15), driving in seven runs and slugged a pair of home runs, leading the Aggies to 3-2 finish for the week. Tendler sparked the Aggie offense against Marshall with two hits, including a home run, and driving in four, in an 8-7 victory against the Thundering Herd.
Michael (RHP, 5-10, So., Milford, Del.) pitched nine no-hit innings against Iona. Michael faced 30 batters during his no-hitter and allowed two walks. He struck out four in the 1-0 victory.
Ortiz (OF, 5-9, Fr., Cleveland, Ohio) batted a .409 (9-of-22) in games against Canisius, Presbyterian and Niagara last week. In his college debut, Ortiz went 3-for-3, including his first-career home run, while driving in two against Canisius.

Cameron Day (NSU) registered five hits, including a double, and drove in four in three non-conference games at the Spartan Classic.
Jack Kraft (CSU) collected four hits, including a pair of triples, and drove in three at the Coca-Cola Classic.
Mitchell McQueen (NCAT) pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run and four hits in a win against Marshall.
Lee Moore (SSU) went 2-for-2 at the plate with two doubles and a pair of runs scored in a 7-5 win against Chicago State.
Matt Noble (BCU) batted a .417 (5-of- 12), with four runs scored and three RBIs in a three-game series against Florida Gulf Coast.
Riley O’Brien (BCU) struck out two of the three batters he faced, allowing no hits and no runs, against Florida Gulf Coast.
Bennie Robinson (FAMU) went 7-of-19 at the plate and collected six RBIs in games against Jackson State and Mercer.
John Sever (BCU) earned a win in his first career-start, working 6.1 innings and striking out nine against Florida Gulf Coast.
Eric Sharff (DSU) pitched two innings of relief against Bucknell and Iona, allowing two hits and fanning five.
Tyson Simpson (NCCU) slugged 13 hits in 20 at-bats against Canisius, Presbyterian and Niagara to pace the Eagles offense.
Eddie Sorondo (DSU) smacked a three-run, pinch-hit home run in an 8-7 win over Iona.
