INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The 2013 Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference champion Savannah State Tigers have been selected to the Tallahassee Regional of the 2013 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship, and will open play Friday against host and No. 7 national seed Florida State at 5 p.m. Also selected to the Tallahassee Regional were Alabama and Troy.
SSU, one of 64 teams playing in the tournament, finished the regular season with a 29-21 record and entered the conference tournament as the top seed in the southern division with a 17-7 mark. During the tournament, the Tigers defeated Maryland-eastern Shore, Norfolk State, Coppin State and Bethune-Cookman.
This is the Tigers' first trip to an NCAA Baseball Championship since 1999 while in Division II.
The top seed in the Tallahassee Regional is Florida State (44-15) followed by Alabama (34-26), Troy (40-18) and Savannah State (33-21).
Alabama will play Troy on May 31 at 12 noon followed by SSU and Florida State. Both games will be shown on ESPN3.

Single game tickets for the Friday sessions ONLY will go on sale via the web (seminoles.com) beginning at 6:00 p.m. Thursday. In person and phone sales of single game tickets for Friday's games will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday. Single game tickets for games on subsequent days will go on sale on the web immediately following the last game of the previous day and at Dick Howser Stadium two hours prior to the start of the first game.
Prices for single game general admission tickets are $10.00 for adults and $6.00 for youth. If available, reserved seats single game tickets are $15.00.
The regional format consists of 16, four-team sites, each playing under a double-elimination format.
