North Carolina A&T splits with Gardner Webb
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The North Carolina A&T baseball team picked up their third straight series win on Saturday, as they split a doubleheader at Gardner-Webb. A&T lost the first game 4-3 before winning the second 5-1.
The Aggies (13-23) totaled 20 hits on Saturday, including five doubles, against the Runnin’ Bulldogs (20-15-1). Junior Luke Tendler batted 3-for-9 with two doubles and two RBI. Freshman Jeovanny Tolentio led the team with four hits. Junior right-hander Tyler Boone went the distance for the Aggies in the second game, allowing one run on six hits.

Bethune-Cookman Opens North Carolina Central Matchup with Split
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – North Carolina Central University used a five-run first frame to set the tone in a 10-0 game two victory over host Bethune-Cookman University to earn the split after dropping game one 4-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Junior Scott Garner (4-4) earned the win by throwing 6.0 solid innings for B-CU with only one earned run allowed on three hits with five strikeouts, while junior hurler Terry McNabb (Davidson, Sask.) had nothing to hang his head about in taking the loss.
Frye (4-3) threw his third complete game of the year, recording his second shutout of the season, allowing just four hits with five strikeouts with one walk. The right handed senior now has 191 career strikeouts to become the first modern era Eagle to record over 190 in a career.
Simpson (3-5) took loss going 0.1 giving up five runs on three hits in his shortest outing of the season.
This was the second time that B-CU (22-16, 11-6) has been beaten in MEAC play by double figures, the first coming on March 31 in a 14-2 loss to Savannah State.
Offensively the Eagles Spencer Franceschetti (Escalon, Calif.) who was 2-for-5 at-the-plate led a trio of Eagles (Thompson and Williamson), while Diaz recorded three RBI to lead the maroon and gray. NCCU was aided by 11 B-CU walks issued in the contest.

FAMU rallies past Savannah State, 5-4 to win game one
SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Florida A&M Baseball team split doubleheader with Savannah State as the Rattlers won game one, 5-4 in 12 innings and in game two the Tigers blanked the Rattlers, 5-0 here Saturday afternoon at Tiger Baseball Field in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader.
FAMU finished the contest with 11 hits as Marlon Gibbs finished with a team high three hits.
SSU tallied game high 14 hits in the game as Joseph McCrary garnered three hits to lead the Tigers from the plate.
Williams Carrasco (1-5) got the win for the Rattlers as he pitched six inning of relief, allowing six hits, one earned run and striking out four in the 25 batters he faced, while David Duncan got the start for the Rattlers as he gave up eight hits, three earned runs and striking out three in the six innings of work on the mound for FAMU.
Eric Ricks (0-1) received the loss for the Tigers as he gave up two hits, one earned run and striking out one in the three innings of relief for SSU, while Kyle McGowin got the start for the Tigers as he pitched nine innings, allowing nine hits, four earned runs and striking out 16 Rattlers in the 41 batters he faced.
Both FAMU and SSU finished with seven hits each.
Peter Jackson led the Rattlers from the plate as he finished with a team high two hits, while McCrary also finished with two hits to lead the Tigers.
Jackson May got the win for SSU in game two as he pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing seven hits and striking out seven in the 28 batters he faced, while Heath Blackburn received the loss for FAMU as he pitched five innings, allowing seven hits, two earned runs and striking out two in the 25 batters he faced.
