Three Hawks Selected As All-Stars In Summer League Play

As the summer continues, three UMES baseball players, Byron Campbell, Zachary Saca and Brandon Schott, have shined in wooden-bat play, earning All-Star selections in their respective leagues.
 
Campbell (Waldorf, Md.), playing outfield for the Sherrill Silversmiths, was selected as a
New York Collegiate Baseball League All-Star.  As of July 26th, Campbell was in the
top-5 in the league with a .379 batting average, eight home runs and 44 RBI, leading his
team in all the above categories.
 
Saca (Elk Grove, Calif.), serving as a starter and relief pitcher for the Auburn Wildcats,
earned a place as a Pacific West Baseball League All-Star.  In 12 games pitched with the
Wildcats as of July 26th, including five starts, Saca sports a 4-2 record with a 2.61 ERA,
striking out 31 batters with just seven walks.
 
Schott (Warren, Pa.), a catcher for the Lexington Chops, was honored with an All-Star
selection in the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League.  Through July 26th, Schott is hitting
.386 with a .643 slugging percentage, four home runs and 20 RBI, leading his team in all
four categories.
