Maryland Eastern Shore's Bryan Chaikowsky
earned MEAC Player of the Week honors in baseball, the conference announced on Monday. Bethune-Cookman's
Patrick Goelz was named the Pitcher of the Week and Delaware State's
Matt McClain earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
Chaikowsky (DH, 6-2, Sr., Bethlehem, Pa.) hit .571 from the plate with 10 RBI, one home run, and two triples to guide the Hawks to a 3-1 record last week. Chaikowsky tallied eight hits in 14 at-bats and recorded his ninth triple of the season during the victories.
Goelz (P, 6-3, So., Palm Bay, Fla.) earned the win as Bethune-Cookman defeated Coppin State 9-0. Goelz recorded a 0.00 ERA in seven innings striking out eight batters, allowing two hits and no runs.
McClain (P, 6-2, Fr., Dover, Del.) tossed his first career shut-out against Norfolk State. The rookie pitched nine innings, striking out four and walking three to earn a 0.00 ERA.

Ryan Haas (DSU) hit .437 from the plate with three RBI and one triple to aid the Hornets to a 3-1 record last week.
Nick Johnson (B-CU) was 9-of-20 (.450) from the plate with seven RBI, one triple and one double in five games for the Wildcats.
Bryan Rivera (B-CU) recorded a 1.45 ERA, striking out five batters against Miami.
Luke Tendler (NCAT) averaged a .347 with five RBI, one home run, and one triple in four games for the Aggies.
Ryan VanAssche (NSU) struck out six batters and walked one with a 1.29 ERA against Delaware State.
Matt Witte (UMES) earned the win with a 1.29 ERA, including seven strikeouts and one walk against Florida A&M.
